About this strip:

Towner was created in 1997 and named after my favorite composer, John Towner Williams, and is basically a kid-friendly miniaturization of my own ChrusherComix characters in a cute little-kids format. I was inspired by Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes along with Charles Schultz's Peanuts and countless others during my childhood. After failing to get a newspaper syndicate to take a chance on them, Towner & Friends were placed in hibernation, only coming out of it to do seasonal newspaper advertising my family's greenhouse and go-karts in Oswego, NY. Towner remained in suspended animation until the completion of my children's book, Tee and Wee when I found ComicGenesis, which is a free webhosting and site automation service for webcomics. Towner, along with his "older brother" comic, "Chrusher", are brought to the world for the first time online for free! So enjoy! Unless a syndicate calls, Towner will likely not continue in strip format (unless by web-viewer request), and will only be seen in future books and my local newspaper advertisements. Unlike most cartoons and comics in the world today (including my other webcomic, which I'll admit, has been a bit vulgar in the past when I was younger), I've kept Towner 100% clean of vulgarity and suitable for all-ages. While a handful of people have thanked me for that, I get no support for this project outside of my mom and wife, and when I notice that all the most highest-rated webcomics are either vulgar, poorly done, and/or not for children, I get discouraged from doing this. So, if you think I'm a talented cartoonist, you like this kind of clean/cute strip, and wish for me to continue to expand the Towner collection, then please consider support me by votes, donations, or buying my children's book.
